As faithful Lutherans\, we treasure Christ’s true body and blood given under bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. On this night\, we also remember Jesus humbly washing His disciples’ feet\, teaching us to love and serve one another. The name “Maundy” comes from the Latin mandatum\, meaning “command\,” referring to Jesus’ command to love.
