DESCRIPTION:Join us for Good Friday worship at Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church—reflecting on Christ’s sacrifice and love for all. This will be a bilingual service in both English and Spanish. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Good Friday\n\n\n\nGood Friday is the day Christians remember Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and sacrificial death on the cross. It falls on the Friday before Easter and is part of the sacred observance known as Holy Week. Unlike the joy and celebration of Easter\, Good Friday is marked by solemnity\, reflection\, and reverence. \n\n\n\nThe significance of Good Friday lies in what Jesus accomplished through His suffering and death. According to Scripture\, Jesus\, the sinless Son of God\, willingly took upon Himself the sins of the world. He was mocked\, beaten\, and nailed to a cross—dying in our place so that we might be forgiven and reconciled to God. His final words\, “It is finished\,” declare the completion of God’s plan of salvation. \n\n\n\nThough it is a day of mourning\, Good Friday is called “good” because of the immeasurable good that came from it: our redemption. It reveals the depth of God’s love\, the seriousness of sin\, and the incredible cost of grace. \n\n\n\nFor Christians\, Good Friday is not the end of the story—it leads to Easter\, when Jesus rose from the grave in victory over sin and death. But on this day\, we pause to remember the cross\, and all that it means. \n\n\n\nHow We Observe Good Friday\n\n\n\nAt Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church\, Good Friday is observed with the “Chief Service\,” a solemn and reflective time of worship. During this service\, we read the entire Passion Account\, walking with Christ through His suffering and death. The litany offers prayers of repentance and thanksgiving\, helping us meditate on the meaning of the cross. A powerful moment in the service is the return of the cross to the chancel. Having been removed on Maundy Thursday\, it is brought back into the sanctuary\, symbolizing Christ’s sacrifice and our focus on His redeeming work. All are welcome to join us for this sacred observance.

Tiene lugar el viernes antes de la Pascua y forma parte de la observancia sagrada conocida como la Semana Santa.
