DESCRIPTION:Join us for Good Friday worship at Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church—reflecting on Christ’s sacrifice and love for all. This will be a bilingual service in both English and Spanish. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Good Friday\n\n\n\nGood Friday is the day Christians remember Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and sacrificial death on the cross. It falls on the Friday before Easter and is part of the sacred observance known as Holy Week. Unlike the joy and celebration of Easter\, Good Friday is marked by solemnity\, reflection\, and reverence. \n\n\n\nThe significance of Good Friday lies in what Jesus accomplished through His suffering and death. According to Scripture\, Jesus\, the sinless Son of God\, willingly took upon Himself the sins of the world. He was mocked\, beaten\, and nailed to a cross—dying in our place so that we might be forgiven and reconciled to God. His final words\, “It is finished\,” declare the completion of God’s plan of salvation. \n\n\n\nThough it is a day of mourning\, Good Friday is called “good” because of the immeasurable good that came from it: our redemption. It reveals the depth of God’s love\, the seriousness of sin\, and the incredible cost of grace. \n\n\n\nFor Christians\, Good Friday is not the end of the story—it leads to Easter\, when Jesus rose from the grave in victory over sin and death. But on this day\, we pause to remember the cross\, and all that it means. \n\n\n\nHow We Observe Good Friday\n\n\n\nAt Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church\, Good Friday is observed with the “Chief Service\,” a solemn and reflective time of worship. During this service\, we read the entire Passion Account\, walking with Christ through His suffering and death. The litany offers prayers of repentance and thanksgiving\, helping us meditate on the meaning of the cross. A powerful moment in the service is the return of the cross to the chancel. Having been removed on Maundy Thursday\, it is brought back into the sanctuary\, symbolizing Christ’s sacrifice and our focus on His redeeming work. DESCRIPTION:This Lent\, join us for our midweek series\, “The Suffering Servant – Isaiah 53\,” as we walk through one of the clearest Old Testament prophecies of Christ’s saving work. Each Wednesday at 7:15 PM\, we gather for the historic Office of Vespers\, hearing how the Lord laid our sin upon His Servant and how His suffering brings us forgiveness\, life\, and salvation. The evening begins with a community meal at 6:15 PM\, offering time for fellowship and encouragement. Come reflect\, repent\, and rejoice in the Lamb who was pierced for us and who justifies many.

DESCRIPTION:Youth Catechism Class is an opportunity for young people to grow in their Christian faith and to prepare to confess it in the Rite of Confirmation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn Catechism Class\, students learn the basics of Christian doctrine through the Small Catechism. Taking Catechism Class is the normal route toward participating in the Rite of Confirmation. \n\n\n\nJoint Catechism Classes\n\n\n\nSaint Peter’s Lutheran Church in Door County conducts Youth Catechism Classes in conjunction with our sister congregation\, Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Algoma. \n\n\n\nAges for Catechism Class\n\n\n\nTypically\, 7th and 8th graders participate in Catechism Class at Saint Peter’s. However\, sometimes younger and older students will participate in Catechism Class.

After we confess our sins\, the pastor proclaims Christ’s forgiveness to us in Holy Absolution. \n\n\n\nThe Divine Service continues with hearing God’s Word through readings from Scripture and a sermon. After receiving God’s Word\, we express our faith in God through the recitation of a creed (a statement of our beliefs)\, the giving of offerings\, and prayer. \n\n\n\nThen\, we receive Christ’s mercy through the Sacrament of the Altar (Holy Communion). DESCRIPTION:This Lent\, join us for our midweek series\, “The Suffering Servant – Isaiah 53\,” as we walk through one of the clearest Old Testament prophecies of Christ’s saving work. Each Wednesday at 7:15 PM\, we gather for the historic Office of Vespers\, hearing how the Lord laid our sin upon His Servant and how His suffering brings us forgiveness\, life\, and salvation. The evening begins with a community meal at 6:15 PM\, offering time for fellowship and encouragement. Come reflect\, repent\, and rejoice in the Lamb who was pierced for us and who justifies many.
