DESCRIPTION:Jesus gives us forgiveness\, life\, and salvation through Word and Sacrament ministry at the Divine Service every week on Sundays at Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church in Door County. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Divine Service usually begins with the confession of our sins. After we confess our sins\, the pastor proclaims Christ’s forgiveness to us in Holy Absolution. \n\n\n\nThe Divine Service continues with hearing God’s Word through readings from Scripture and a sermon. After receiving God’s Word\, we express our faith in God through the recitation of a creed (a statement of our beliefs)\, the giving of offerings\, and prayer. \n\n\n\nThen\, we receive Christ’s mercy through the Sacrament of the Altar (Holy Communion). DESCRIPTION:Youth Catechism Class is an opportunity for young people to grow in their Christian faith and to prepare to confess it in the Rite of Confirmation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn Catechism Class\, students learn the basics of Christian doctrine through the Small Catechism. Taking Catechism Class is the normal route toward participating in the Rite of Confirmation. \n\n\n\nJoint Catechism Classes\n\n\n\nSaint Peter’s Lutheran Church in Door County conducts Youth Catechism Classes in conjunction with our sister congregation\, Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Algoma. \n\n\n\nAges for Catechism Class\n\n\n\nTypically\, 7th and 8th graders participate in Catechism Class at Saint Peter’s. However\, sometimes younger and older students will participate in Catechism Class. \n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\nThis class session is held at the site of our sister congregation: Saint John’s Lutheran Church\, Algoma. Other class sessions will meet at Saint Peter’s. Please check the schedule or contact us to see when and where classes will be held.
