Growing in Faith, Building Friendships, and Serving Others
At Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church in Forestville, Wisconsin, our youth group brings young people together to grow in their Christian faith, build lasting friendships, have fun, and serve their neighbors. Open to students in 8th through 12th grade, our youth group welcomes young people from throughout Door County and the surrounding communities.
Our youth ministry combines regular fellowship activities, Christian devotion, service opportunities, and exciting trips that help young people grow together as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Monthly Youth Group Meetings
Our youth group meets once a month for an evening of fun, fellowship, and faith. Each meeting includes three important elements: games, devotional time, and group business.
We enjoy games and activities that give students an opportunity to relax, laugh, and develop friendships. Our devotional time centers on God’s Word, helping young people connect the teachings of Scripture with the challenges and opportunities of everyday life.
We also conduct youth group business, giving students a voice in planning activities, organizing events, and making decisions about upcoming projects. This helps our youth develop leadership skills, practice responsibility, and take an active role in the life of the congregation.
Monthly Youth Group Breakfasts
In addition to our regular meetings, the youth group hosts monthly breakfasts. These gatherings provide another opportunity for fellowship while allowing our young people to contribute to the life of Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church.
Our breakfasts bring together youth, families, and members of the congregation, strengthening relationships across generations and helping students understand the importance of Christian service.
LCMS National Youth Gathering
Every three years, our youth group participates in the LCMS National Youth Gathering, one of the largest gatherings of Lutheran young people in the country.
Organized by The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, the National Youth Gathering brings thousands of teenagers together for worship, Bible study, fellowship, and Christian encouragement.
For our youth, attending the Gathering is an unforgettable experience. It gives them the opportunity to meet fellow Lutherans from across the United States, explore their faith more deeply, and experience the joy of belonging to the wider Church.
Youth Mission Trips
In the two years between National Youth Gatherings, our youth group takes a mission trip. This means that our students have the opportunity to participate in a major trip every year, alternating between the National Youth Gathering and mission trips.
These mission trips give young people hands-on opportunities to serve others, experience different communities, and put their Christian faith into action.
Working together on service projects helps our youth develop compassion, responsibility, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for the needs of their neighbors. Just as importantly, these trips build friendships and create lasting memories.
