Our first recommendation for those looking for a Lutheran church in the Paola area is Trinity Lutheran Church.
Trinity is a historic congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod located just outside Paola. Founded in 1868, the congregation has served Christians in Miami County for more than 150 years.
At the center of Trinity’s congregational life is the Divine Service. Each Sunday, Christians gather around God’s Word and Sacraments to hear the Scriptures, confess the Christian faith, sing the Church’s hymns, hear the preaching of Christ crucified and risen, and receive the Lord’s Supper.
Trinity’s worship follows the historic Lutheran liturgy. This reflects the Lutheran understanding that worship is first and foremost about receiving God’s gifts: forgiveness, life, and salvation given to us because of Jesus Christ.
The congregation also provides opportunities for continued study of God’s Word. Sunday School and Adult Bible Class meet at 9:00 AM before the 10:00 AM Divine Service.

First Lutheran is located within the city of Paola and shares the same historic Lutheran confession of faith. Its worship centers upon Christ’s gifts to His Church through His Word and Sacraments.
The congregation gathers for Divine Service on Sunday mornings, followed by Sunday School and Adult Bible Study. First Lutheran also provides catechetical instruction as it teaches younger Christians the Scriptures and the Christian faith summarized in Luther’s Small Catechism.
Like Trinity, First Lutheran encourages families to worship together. Children are welcomed in the Divine Service as members of the congregation rather than being expected to participate in a separate children’s worship service.
For those who live within Paola itself, First Lutheran’s location may be especially convenient. More importantly, it offers another opportunity to become part of a congregation committed to the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.
